 Dear Parents,

Today in class we reviewed final syllable -le and learned vocabulary words 21 - 24 from week 9. Homework is to write vocabulary words 21 - 24 three times and the definitions one time.

Week 9 Vocabulary – I Wanna Iguana


  1. made-up: created from the imagination; not true or real

  2. persuade: to cause someone to believe something

  3. iguana: a large lizard that lives in tropical places

  4. happen: to take place; occur

  5. sign: to write a person’s name on

  6. glad: happy; pleased

  7. compassionate: sympathetic; showing concern for someone

  8. doubt: to have no confidence in someone or something

  9. cage: a box closed in by bars used to keep animals

  10. hamster: a very small animal with a round body, short tail, and large cheeks

  11. adorable: very cute; lovable

  12. by the way: used to add something into a conversation that is on a different  

topic

  1. think (thought): to use one’s mind to reason about something

  2. mention: to talk about something or someone in a brief way

  3. keep (kept): to continue having or holding something

  4. dresser: a piece of furniture with drawers for clothes

  5. trophy: something given to recognize a win; award

  6. grow (grew): to become larger by natural development

  7. foot (feet): the end part of the leg of animals

  8. whole: having the entire amount

  9. married: having a partner in marriage

  10. probably: almost certainly; quite likely

  11. own: belonging to oneself alone

  12. mature: fully grown
