Today in class we learned vocabulary words 21 - 24 from Week 6. The story was Penguin Chick.

Week 6 Vocabulary – Penguin Chick
stomach: the organ in the body that digests food.
down: small and very soft feathers.
fluffy: light and soft or airy.
poke: to push something thin at something.
chick: baby bird.
whistle: to make a high sound by blowing through your lips or teeth.
trumpet: a brass wind instrument.
echo: the repeating of a sound caused by the bouncing of sound waves from a surface.
cuddle: to hold and hug in a tender and loving way.
steer: to cause to move in a certain direction.
crack: to break apart with a snapping sound.
Instead: as an alternative or replacement; in place of something else
nursery: a room where babies sleep or play.
rush: to go quickly; hurry.
slippery: having a slick surface that is difficult to move upon without sliding.
junior: younger in age.
enough: in the amount needed.
waterproof: designed to prevent water from entering.
feather: the soft and light parts of a bird that grows from the skin and covers the body.
flap (flapped): to move quickly up and down.
swallow: to cause food to go from the mouth to the stomach.
hatch: to come out of an egg
endangered: close to extinction
concern: a nervous or worried feeling
