Week 14 Short Definitions: Carl the

1. Stuck (adj.): difficult or impossible to move from a position
2. Neighbor (n.): a person who lives
next door to you or in your area/ nearby
3. Cool (adj.): great, awesome
4. Click (v.): to use a mouse to do
something on a computer such as open or close a pop-up ad
5. Sign (v.): to write your signature/
name on something
6. Title (n.): the name of something
like a book, movie, or petition as in the story
7. Agree (v.): to think the same as
someone; to think someone or something is right
8. Council (n.): a group of people who
make decisions about what happens in towns, cities, etc
9. Tomb (n.): a place where people are
buried
10. Copy/ Copies (n.): something that looks
exactly like something else
11. Government (n.): the group of people who control and make
decisions for a country, state, etc.

13. Wonder (v.): used to ask a question or make a polite request

quiet, unclear way
4. Shrug/ Shrugged (v.): to raise and lower your
shoulders usually to show that you do not know or care about something
5. P.M. (n): in the
afternoon or evening — used with numbers to show the time of day
6. Complain (v.): to say or write that you are unhappy, sick,
uncomfortable, etc., or that you do not like something
7. Annoy/ Annoyed (v.): to cause (someone) to feel slightly angry
8. Signature (n.): your signed name
9. Responsible (adj.): able to be trusted to do what is right or to do
the things that are expected or required
10. Realistic (adj.): showing people and things as they are in real
life
11. Jingle (n.): a small piece of music used in advertisements

a lot of ideas in a short time on a certain subject
