Dear Parents,
Today we learned spl, thr, squ, str, and scr, blends. We also learned vocabulary words 6 - 10 and read Tops and Bottoms. Homework tonight is RWN Page 147 and to write vocabulary words 6 - 10 three times and the definitions once. Students should also write vocabulary words 1 - 5 three times and the definitions once. Please see the attached definition list.

Pluck: to pull something quickly to remove it.
Toss: to throw something with a quick, light motion.
Aside: to or on the side.
Stare: to look at someone or something for a long time with your eyes wide open.
Pile: a group of things that are put one on top of another.
Gather: to bring (things or people) together into a group.
Lettuce: a plant that has large leaves that are eaten especially in salads.
Broccoli: a common vegetable that has green branches and many small green or purple flowers.

Root: the part of a plant that grows underground, gets water from the ground, and holds the plant in place.
Tassel: a flower or group of flowers at the top of a cornstalk.
Rub (rubbed): to use pressure on with a back and forth motion.
Holler: call out loudly; shout.
Awake: not asleep.
Buy (bought): to get something by paying money for it.
Stand: a stall or movable shop where customers can walk up and buy things.
